Acupuncture for Dizziness (Vertigo) | Elle Acupuncture – Tokyo Ikebukuro

Are You Struggling with Any of These Symptoms?

  • Vertigo when turning over in bed
  • Feeling unsteady while walking
  • Fear of going down stairs because of dizziness
  • Dizziness that continues despite medication or ENT treatment
  • Difficulty working or doing daily activities because of dizziness
  • Looking for a natural treatment to support your recovery

If so, acupuncture may be a helpful option.

Our Three-Step Approach

At Elle Acupuncture, we combine three approaches to support patients with dizziness.

1. Anatomical Approach

Based on over 31 years of clinical experience, we often find tension in the neck and around the ears in patients with dizziness.

Particular attention is given to the sternocleidomastoid muscle (SCM) and the temporalis muscle. When these muscles become tight, they may affect local circulation and be associated with dizziness. Acupuncture is used to reduce muscle tension and promote healthy blood flow.

2. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

In TCM, dizziness is often associated with an imbalance in body fluid metabolism.

We examine the tongue as part of the assessment. A thick white coating may suggest a pattern known as “Dampness” in TCM. Treatment is selected according to each patient’s condition and may include acupuncture points that support overall body balance. For patients whose symptoms are related to stress, acupuncture may also help promote relaxation.

3. Extraordinary Meridian Therapy

We also incorporate Extraordinary Meridian Therapy, a traditional acupuncture method that aims to restore balance throughout the body.

According to TCM theory, meridians related to the ear pass around the head. Treatment is individualized to support the body’s natural healing response.

Individualized Care

Dizziness can significantly affect daily life and quality of life. Some people continue to experience symptoms even while receiving conventional medical care.

At Elle Acupuncture, we provide individualized acupuncture treatments based on anatomy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Extraordinary Meridian Therapy. Every treatment plan is tailored to each patient’s symptoms and physical condition.

Our director has over 31 years of acupuncture experience and has treated many patients with dizziness and balance problems. We carefully assess each patient and provide personalized care to support their recovery.

Acupuncture is not a replacement for medical care. We recommend evaluation by a physician, especially if your dizziness is severe, sudden, or accompanied by other neurological symptoms. Individual responses to treatment vary.
